What it can feel like
Anxiety is one of the most common reasons people come to therapy, and one of the most treatable. It often starts as a sensible attempt to stay safe: thinking ahead, checking, avoiding what feels risky. Over time those same strategies can keep the anxiety going, so it takes up more and more room.
You might notice it most in your body, with a racing heart, tight chest or churning stomach. You might notice it in your thinking, as a stream of “what ifs” that never quite resolves. Or you might notice it in what you’ve stopped doing: the invitations you turn down, the journeys you avoid, the emails you can’t bring yourself to open.
I work with generalised anxiety, panic attacks, health anxiety, social anxiety and the kind of low‑level dread that doesn’t have an obvious label. You don’t need a diagnosis to start.

I integrate Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) techniques and concepts into any anxiety therapy I do. This gives us a clear map of what keeps your anxiety going: the thoughts, the physical feelings and the things you do to cope. Once we can see the cycle, we can find practical places to interrupt it.
We work on the thinking patterns and, gently and with your agreement, on the avoidance, so that the world gets bigger again. Nothing is forced. Alongside the structure, there is always space to talk about what is going on in your life and how it feels.
In the free 20‑minute intro call you can tell me a little about what the anxiety is like for you, and I’ll explain how we might work on it together.

Anxiety therapy in Hackney, Peckham and East Dulwich
Three private therapy rooms across East and South East London, with online sessions available anywhere in the UK.
How long does therapy for anxiety take?
It varies. Many people find a focused piece of work of around 8 to 16 weekly sessions helpful, while others prefer longer, more open‑ended therapy. We review together regularly so you are never locked in.
Will I have to face my fears straight away?
No. Any work on avoidance is planned together, in small steps you agree to. You stay in control of the pace throughout.
Can therapy help with panic attacks?
Yes. Understanding what happens in your body and mind during panic, and what keeps the fear of panic going, is a core part of therapy for anxiety.
How much does anxiety therapy cost in London?
